About Us:

Mid-Winter Festival is one of the two square and round dance festsivals co-sponsored each year by the Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs. The Summer Festival rotates around the state, but the Mid-Winter Festival has always been hosted by Emerald Empire Area Council, which meets at the Emerald Square Dance Center located on Yolanda St. in Springfield, Oregon.

The Mid-Winter Festival was first held in 1960, at the Lane County Fairgrounds in Eugene. In 2005, the festival moved to the Linn County Fairgrounds. In 2010, the Midwinter Festival celebrated its Golden Jubilee.

Mid-Winter Festival is attended by about 1,500 dancers from all across the western United States.
