Timberline Lodge Ski Area

27500 East Timberline Road
503-272-3311

We're the only ski area in North America that's open all 12 months of the year. We've got 3,690 vertical feet-more than anybody else in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. We're located near the top of an 11,245-foot volcano-the tallest mountain in all of Oregon. Go ahead. Enjoy the stats. But then get up here and enjoy the ride.

Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America. The winter season typically begins early to mid-November and continues through Memorial Day. Our Palmer Express high-speed quad lift allows us to operate later into the summer season than anyone else (usually June 1st through Labor Day). Many years, we're open for fall skiing as well (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and October snow permitting). The Palmer lift operates in the Spring and Summer seasons only. During the winter months, we offer snowcat rides to the top of Palmer when weather permits.

Unique and magnificent historic property. We did not get a room with a view of Mount Hood as they were all booked but the rooms on the other side have a great view of Mount Jackson as well . The room was very small but clean and comfortable and we spent most our time wandering around the property. We did not do our research completely though and did not expect that in May there would still be so much snow, so that we could not hike around the hotel as we had thought we would do. Our fault entirely, but I thought I'd share that information. You can rent skis or snow shoes of course but we did not feel in good enough shape for either one. Service was excellent. Dinner in the hotel's restaurant was fantastic. If I could write a separate review I would give the restaurant 5 stars. We would come back and stay there if we have the opportunity.

Lodging is severely overpriced, but everything else about this place is wonderful. Great food and drinks. Amazing views. Access to hiking, skiing, etc. They generally allow camping next to the parking lot, so you can get an early morning start on your mountain adventure without having to pay exorbitant prices for a room. 100% recommended to try the all-you-can-eat breakfast and lunch buffets. Delicious and worth every penny.

An extremely lovely building with a rich history. You would not believe the size of the wood beams that make up the structure unless you see it with your own eyes. It is quite an impressive site to behold. From the parking lot alone you can see quite the impressive sight of Mt. Hood looming over in the distance, some 5,000ft higher with skiers coming down the mountainside even in the summer. As you travel up the moutainside you get a real sense of the magnitude of the mountain. Scaling the entire thing would be an incredible feat.

Loved exploring the lodge and learning about the history. Must have the buffet breakfast! Monica ,our waitress was great. She answered all our questions and had great sightseeing ideas. Amazingly, she gave us great fishing tips for nearby lake Trillium. Wish we could spend more time at the lodge.

Touch Mt. Hood. It feels like you can touch the mountain. Amazing drive up there. Super pretty curvy roads. Definitely worth visiting. Snow was melting when reached. Windy/ chilly up there. Clouds touching the valley and all sorts of pretty nature's demonstrations.
